Nothing in
Alaska compares to the untouched beauty of Katmai
National Park and Preserve. Approximately 4.2
million acres in size, the combined area is larger
than the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island put
together.
The region is
filled with a variety of wildlife, including brown
bear, moose, caribou, wolves, lynx, wolverine, and
numerous bird species. While fishing with us, you
will see many of these majestic animals, often up
close and personal.
A short flight or
boat ride from the lodge takes you into this land
of unsurpassed splendor and endless outdoor
opportunity.
Witness the
steaming active volcanoes of the peak-studded
Aleutian Range. Take a short trip through the
"Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes" area and see the
more than 2.5 cubic miles of ash deposited there
from Mt. Katmai's explosive eruption in 1912. Fly
over and look down in awe at the island-dotted,
sapphire blue lakes that dominate the vast
landscape. Or maybe while returning from a day's
fishing excursion, watch from above as two bull
moose lock in battle, fighting for territorial
supremacy.
This
magnificent region will provide you with
unforgettable fishing, flight-seeing, hiking, and
wildlife viewing, combined with some of the most
breathtaking scenery in North
America.
